What you will do

• Own end-to-end system design for major product initiatives from specification to production
• Define and evolve backend architecture for scalable compliance platforms
• Build core features like multi-workspace support, RBAC, and scalability
• Lead AI integrations including LLM and agentic workflows
• Design and optimize relational databases and SQL for high-scale systems
• Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and improve engineering practices

Requirements

• 8+ years backend/product engineering with ownership of large-scale systems
• Strong system architecture design and delivery experience
• Hands-on AI/ML integration, including LLM and RAG systems
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate (or equivalents)
• Relational DB design, SQL optimization, scalable data modeling
• Experience leading design discussions and mentoring
• Strong communication for remote distributed teams
• Work effectively within European time zones

Nice to have

• Experience in fully remote startups or early-stage products
• Multi-language backend stacks
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools like Cursor, Claude
