Accountant (Affordable Housing)

Salary: $85,000 – $125,000 annually

What you will do

• Manage trial balances, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting for multiple development projects
• Track and record capitalized costs, monitor project budgets from predevelopment through construction and lease-up
• Partner with development and asset management teams to align reporting with project milestones
• Support audit processes and prepare documentation for lenders, investors, and regulators like LIHTC compliance
• Assist in financial aspects of municipal entitlements and coordinate with third-party property managers
• Improve internal financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience in real estate, specifically affordable housing development
• Strong understanding of development accounting, capitalized costs, project-based accounting, and complex capital stacks
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, Quickbooks)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines across concurrent projects

• Experience with construction management and ownership representation for housing initiatives
