What you will do

• Own end-to-end system design for major product initiatives from specification to production
• Define and evolve backend architecture for scalable compliance platforms with multi-workspace and RBAC
• Build core platform capabilities and lead backend development for AI-powered products including LLM and agentic workflows
• Design and optimize relational database structures and SQL performance for high-scale systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn ambiguous requirements into technical solutions
• Mentor engineers via design reviews and improve engineering practices and system reliability

Requirements

• 8+ years backend or product engineering experience owning complex large-scale systems
• Strong experience designing and delivering end-to-end system architectures in production
• Hands-on with building or integrating AI/ML features including LLM-based and RAG systems
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate (or equivalents)
• Solid relational database design, SQL optimization, scalable data modeling
• Proven leading system design discussions, architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers
• Strong communication skills for remote distributed teams and European time zones

Nice to have

• Experience in fully remote startups or early-stage product environments
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor or Claude
• Multi-language backend stacks
