Software Development Engineer (Backend)

TL;DR

Software Development Engineer (Backend): Design, develop, and maintain backend services powering the hirify.global platform with an accent on scalability, reliability, and microservices architecture. Focus on implementing efficient code, optimizing data storage and caching, and providing production support under high load.

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Seattle, Washington, United States. Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Annual base salary: $130,000-$165,000. Target annual bonus: 10%.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain components of platform services with hands-on coding.
• Implement testable, efficient code meeting performance, scalability, and reliability standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders in Agile environment.
• Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and deliver small projects end-to-end.
• Support production applications through deployment, troubleshooting, and incident management.
• Participate in company initiatives and role model company values.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar.
• 3+ years in Software Development/Engineering in medium/large enterprise.
• 3+ years with Java, Python, Go, or similar object-oriented language.
• 1+ years with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Chef).
• 1+ years with containers/orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience in Agile, RESTful API design, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with AWS/GCP, distributed microservices, event-driven architectures.
• Experience with databases/caching/search (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving; team player who works independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with architecture trade-off analysis and domain-driven design.
