Salary: $170K – $230K + Equity

What you will do

• Develop and optimize backend services to help sellers manage their merchandise more efficiently.
• Design and operate production APIs and services, primarily using Python and Elixir.
• Implement data models for transactional systems using relational databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Own and deliver projects from scoping through production to improve the seller and buyer experience.
• Collaborate with the team to define technical trade-offs and advocate for the best product solutions.

Requirements

• Must live within commuting distance of the New York hub.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing and operating production APIs and backend services.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling for transactional systems.
• Proven track record of owning projects from scoping to delivery.

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS).
• Proficiency in API design using GraphQL or REST.
• Knowledge of e-commerce or marketplace domains (inventory, catalog, fulfillment).
• Experience with containerized deployments using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience integrating LLMs into production workflows for classification or content generation.
