TL;DR
Area Service Manager (Energy Storage): Serve as primary service interface for projects across commissioning through post-COD operations with an accent on customer relationships, issue escalation, and O&M performance. Location: Remotely within the Continental U.S. (as needed in office), may be based in Arlington, VA, up to 50% travel required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What you will do
- Serve as primary service relationship owner for assigned customers, ensuring communication and execution aligned with contracts.
- Act as escalation point for technical issues between customers and field technicians.
- Support energy storage projects across commissioning, operations, and post-COD phases.
- Drive O&M service performance on safety, financial, and maintenance metrics.
- Identify and resolve operational/technical issues using structured problem-solving.
- Coordinate proactive/reactive maintenance and third-party providers.
- Lead technical training for asset owners and providers, support reporting and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, preference for technical discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or STEM).
- 10+ years in electric utilities or independent power producers (generation, operations, technical roles).
- Demonstrated experience leading safety initiatives in operational/field environments.
- Proven technical troubleshooting, analytical problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience managing complex customer relationships and escalations.
- Understanding of financial/business performance in service delivery.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% and meet physical site/field requirements.

- Income statement management and budget development.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or similar platforms.
- Negotiating/managing third-party service contracts.
- Project management and cross-functional coordination.
- Business process management (reporting, procure-to-pay, change management).
- SCADA/MODBUS experience.
- Background in battery energy storage or renewable assets.
