TL;DR

Package Competence Engineer (Power MOSFET Packaging): Provide expertise in semiconductor packaging and assembly to enhance Power MOSFET performance with an accent on materials, reliability, and design rules. Focus on leading cross-functional projects, formulating packaging strategies, and developing new concepts including patents.

Location: Manchester, UK (visa sponsorship and relocation support available to strong candidates)

Salary: from £45,000 (DOE)

What you will do

  • Lead cross-functional teams in package-related projects
  • Formulate packaging strategy and roadmap
  • Develop links with assembly site engineers and managers to support development and business objectives
  • Support product lines and other groups on package concerns
  • Generate design rules, new design concepts, and patent ideas

Requirements

  • Located in Manchester, UK or willing to relocate with visa sponsorship
  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, or relevant discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of power semiconductor device packages, materials, equipment, and assembly processes
  • Expert grasp of physical/chemical properties and behavior of packaging materials
  • Familiarity with reliability tests, failure modes, DOE, AutoCAD, simulation tools, data analysis, and technical report writing

Nice to have

  • Experience planning, organising, and controlling complex projects with budgets
  • Established network with suppliers and subcontractor assembly
