TL;DR
Customer Service Technician (Telecom): Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed internet, video, and voice networks including associated wiring and equipment with an accent on outside plant facilities. Focus on climbing poles, digging and burying cable, working in utility access holes, and directing customer-facing work.
Location: 1000 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA (onsite/field-based)

What you will do
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet, video, and voice networks including wiring and equipment
- Perform maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities
- Climb poles, dig up and bury cable, work in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults, and locate buried cables
- Observe all safety rules and regulations
- Assist other technical personnel and support sales and marketing activities
- Direct customer-facing work and sales referrals
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to distinguish colors, handle 28-foot ladders (up to 75 lbs.) and utility hole covers (up to 150 lbs.)
- Complete service tech boot camp training, POTS/DSL installation/repair, cable splicing/maintenance, basic transmissions, air pressure, and HSI installations
- Basic computer skills including MS Office
- Work in confined spaces, aloft on ladders, outside in all weather, varying shifts including overtime, weekends, holidays
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Positive professional demeanor, accountability, teamwork, active listening and learning
Nice to have
- Prior experience as customer-facing telecom operations technician
- Basic electricity training/certification or equivalent
- ADSL installation/repair experience
- A+/Net+ certification
