Engineering Project Team Leader

TL;DR

Engineering Project Team Leader (Engines): Leading project teams in Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), Key Strategic Projects, and Cost Reduction initiatives for BCP engine systems with an accent on emissions, engines, and global installations. Focus on prioritizing programs by business impact, collaborating with IPSD and product support teams, and driving warranty reductions through CPI governance and process improvements.

Location: Desford, Leicestershire, United Kingdom or Sanford, North Carolina, USA. This position requires working onsite five days a week. Up to 25% travel (domestic and international). Visa Sponsorship is not available.

Salary: £66,000 - £81,000 depending on skills demonstrated

What you will do

• Provide strategic vision and leadership for Key Strategic Projects, High Priority Projects, and Cost Reduction initiatives addressing global business challenges.
• Prioritize programs and activities based on customer value, business impact, technical risks, and timelines.
• Own BCP engine system team CPI process, including governance, execution, and improvement.
• Lead collaboration with BCP product support and IPSD teams for CPI alignment across global product groups.
• Monitor warranty data, identify emerging issues, and drive actions with IPSD.
• Coach and mentor system engineering team to build deep CPI expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Knowledge of emission regulations, engine design/development, and installation in multiple applications.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for technical problems in design, development, or product management.
• Project management expertise to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects.
• Requirements analysis skills to elicit and document business functionality.
• Product design and development experience from concept to production.

Nice to have

• Experience with quality process controls, CPI strategies from other divisions.
• Proven coaching, motivating, and developing teams.
• Technical validation (DFMEA, DOE), Six Sigma Black Belt (DMAIC), data analytics (Power BI, Tableau).
