Junior Data Engineer

TL;DR

Junior Data Engineer: Engineering data pipelines and models to enhance data lake accessibility and self-service analytics with an accent on Spark, DBT, SQL transformations, and ML-enabling datasets. Focus on orchestrating workflows with Airflow DAGs, designing intuitive data marts, and participating in Agile ceremonies.

Location: Hybrid in London (minimum 60% office time over 12-week period); 28-day work from abroad policy.

What you will do

• Build and optimize data pipelines using Spark or DBT to create accessible data marts and models for basic SQL users.
• Transform raw data into insights with SQL and orchestrate pipelines via Airflow DAGs.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams with BI developers and data scientists to power dashboards, analytics, and ML models.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies including standups, planning, demos, and retrospectives.
• Deploy changes using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

Requirements

• Hybrid work in London office minimum 60% time.
• Experience in data engineering with SQL and Python.
• Exposure to DBT or similar transformation tools.
• Exposure to Apache Airflow or similar for DAG orchestration.
• Ability to use data modeling tools for table diagrams and discussions.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in Agile environment with MVPs, story pointing, and sprints.
