Senior R&D Engineer

TL;DR

Senior R&D Engineer (Plasma Lighting): Lead the development and design of plasma lighting products (e.g., Cermax, Excimer lamps), collaborating with teams to drive products into mass production with an accent on manufacturing processes, technical roadmaps, and NPI. Focus on defining processes, optimizing equipment, ensuring quality through MSA/GR&R, FMEA, and driving continuous improvement via Six Sigma and Lean.

Location: Singapore (onsite facility), with weekly travel to Batam for production support and NPI.

What you will do

• Lead development and design of plasma lighting products, coordinating with Pleasanton and Batam teams for mass production.
• Conduct research, competitor analysis, and conceptual design for technical roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership for product/process timelines, manufacturing processes, and equipment optimization.
• Support Batam production with setup, parameter tuning, MSA/GR&R, FMEA, and Lean layouts.
• Manage customer samples, ensure quality/yield via process studies and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement with Six Sigma/Lean and maintain communication with management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in plasma arc lighting or related.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for plasma lighting, power electronics, control circuits, EMI/EMC.
• Proficiency in CAD software; DFMEA/PFMEA experience desirable.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma; strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel weekly to Batam.
