Systems Engineer, Algorithm Development (Radar)

Location: Full-time onsite in Hawthorne, California

Salary: $110,000–$240,000 annual base compensation, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and develop radar signal-processing algorithms for target detection, tracking, and classification.
• Lead the development of new radar capabilities and radar modes with minimal guidance.
• Optimize and implement algorithms for real-time performance using software such as Python, MATLAB, and C++, and hardware such as FPGAs and DSPs.
• Develop simulations and models of radar systems, subsystems, and signal-processing chains.
• Analyze radar data, evaluate system performance, and identify improvements.
• Plan and lead field tests, document technical findings, present progress to leadership, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of radar systems experience and a deep understanding of radar systems and modes.
• Strong knowledge of radar principles, signal-processing techniques, digital signal processing, and algorithm development.
• Systems Engineering experience with RF systems and expertise in data analysis.
• Strong familiarity with Python or MATLAB and the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with radar waveform design, matched filtering, Doppler processing, and clutter rejection.
• Strong foundation across both sides of the Systems Engineering V.
• Experience with C++.
