What you will do

• Architect ruggedized electronic hardware, enclosures, chassis, and thermal solutions per program standards.
• Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and ICDs with production-ready quality.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses to verify environmental compliance.
• Lead cross-disciplinary integration with mechanical, electrical, RF, power, and systems teams.
• Serve as technical interface with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Support production transition, configuration control, and field sustainment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related; 12+ years in aerospace/defense mechanical design.
• Expert CAD proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks) and production drawings.
• Expertise in interfaces, GD&T, tolerancing, and ICDs.
• Familiarity with military/aerospace connectors and MIL-STD-810.
• Experience with ruggedized hardware and qualification.
• Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance.
• Strong communication and leadership in technical decisions.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Prior role as mechanical technical authority.
• FEA/multiphysics tools (NASTRAN, ANSYS, etc.).
• Environmental testing experience (vibration, shock).
• Cable harness and electromechanical integration.
