Sr./Staff Manufacturing Engineer (Advanced Processes): Responsible for developing, testing, deploying, and scaling high-volume manufacturing processes for power electronics assemblies with an accent on advanced automation/robotics and chemical handling systems. Focus on specifying, commissioning, and optimizing production-scale manufacturing equipment for high-speed assembly lines, ensuring robust and repeatable processes from concept to production ramp.

Location: On-site in Scotts Valley

Salary: $150,000 to $200,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead line development across multiple process and equipment technologies from concept to ramp.
  • Develop and scale processes for thermal interface materials, pottants, and associated dispense and handling systems.
  • Develop surface treatment processes for plastics and metals, including plasma/corona treatment and chemical cleaning.
  • Specify and qualify advanced joining processes such as ultrasonic welding and laser welding/brazing.
  • Implement electrical and in-line inspection systems to monitor and control process quality.
  • Support automation integration with robots, conveyors, and inline QA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial automation, chemical handling, electromechanical assembly, or related high-volume manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of creepage/clearance, sealing of enclosures, adhesives, and machine interfaces.
  • Ability to characterize and optimize key process variables for chemical handling systems.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, SPC, Cp/Cpk studies, and hypothesis testing.
  • Hands-on experience with automation, robotics, PLCs, and vision systems.
