Principal Software Engineer

TL;DR

Principal Software Engineer (Radar Systems): Research & Development and production software development for next-generation radar products with an accent on system integration with COTS hardware and support for deployed capabilities. Focus on building near-real-time systems, applying Agile processes including Scrum and CI/CD, and ensuring reliability for defense applications.

Location: Full-time on-site in Hawthorne, California, United States. U.S. Person status required to access U.S.-only data systems.

Salary range: $120,000 - $170,000

What you will do

• Develop R&D and production software for next-generation radar products
• Integrate software with COTS hardware systems
• Support deployed software capabilities for U.S. and international customers
• Collaborate in small teams on multiple product capabilities using Agile methodologies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of professional object-oriented software development experience
• Extensive/advanced Python experience
• Solid experience in Linux-based software development
• Experience with Agile processes including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in small teams
• U.S. Person status required

Nice to have

• Experience with HW/SW integration, verification, and validation of high-TRL systems
• DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD with FOSS/COTS tools
• Networks (software/hardware), CUDA/JAX, Software-Defined Radios (SDRs like Ettus)
• Near-real-time systems development
• Additional languages: C++, Rust, NodeJS, Java, Go
• Containers (Docker, Podman), git, code quality tools
