Electronics Lab Technician

TL;DR

Electronics Lab Technician (RF): Support research, development, and quality assurance in RF lab by assembling, testing, and troubleshooting RF devices and circuits with an accent on wireless communications and high-frequency applications. Focus on operating specialized test equipment, diagnosing signal interference and failures, and maintaining automated characterization racks.

Hourly Range: $50.00-$63.00/hour

What you will do

• Set up and operate RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
• Troubleshoot signal interference, component failures, and system integration issues in RF circuits.
• Build and manage automated characterization racks, track inventory, and ensure lab equipment calibration.
• Maintain test data, generate reports, and document results for engineering teams.
• Assemble breadboards, test fixtures, and wiring harnesses from drawings and schematics.
• Assist in organizing and supporting field tests of Ziva systems.

Requirements

• 2–5+ years hands-on lab/repair experience with electronic systems
• Strong understanding of PCB design and test, ideally with radio frequency systems

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Telecommunications, or related field; equivalent military training (e.g., PMEL).
• Experience with scripting for automated testing (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW).
• Certifications: FCC GROL, ETA RF Specialist, or vendor-specific like Anritsu/Nokia.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 or FCC regulations.
