Process Engineer/Scientist (III-V)

TL;DR

Process Engineer/Scientist (III-V): Develop, optimize, and control manufacturing processes for microelectronic devices on III-V materials with an accent on fabrication techniques including photolithography, etching, deposition, and metallization. Focus on troubleshooting process issues, implementing Six Sigma continuous improvement, designing experiments, and transferring processes to production.

Location: Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, Canada (onsite). All applicants must comply with the CGP (Controlled Goods Program).

What you will do

• Provide technical support for III-V laser emitters and photodiodes fabrication processes.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Apply Six Sigma methodology for continuous improvement.
• Develop and optimize automated process controls.
• Design experiments, qualify processes, and transfer to production.
• Train production personnel and maintain technological watch.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (physics, electrical, chemical), physics, or chemistry; master's or relevant experience an asset.
• At least 1 year of experience in microelectronic device fabrication.
• Knowledge of microfabrication processes (photolithography, metrology, wet etching, plasma etching, diffusion, CVD, metallization, optical coatings).
• Knowledge of electro-optical characterization methods.
• Proficiency in French (spoken and written) for francophone work environment.
• Excellent English (spoken and written) for technical communications.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of laser-bar stacking, pick-and-place, or facet-forming techniques.
• Six Sigma green belt certification and statistical process control.
• Project management experience.
