TL;DR

Processing Performance Leader (Aerospace Manufacturing): Oversee processing department (Heat Treat, Plating, Shot Peen, Paint) on 2nd shift with daily responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, efficiency, and cost. Focus on leading a team of 18-20 technicians, implementing improvements, and coordinating with support groups like planning, maintenance, and machine shop.

Onsite – Torrance, CA (2nd shift, 9/80 schedule)

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 annually

What you will do

  • Oversee team of 18-20 processing technicians including hiring, training, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Implement and measure team goals aligned with organizational strategy, motivate team, and coordinate with support groups.
  • Identify and implement improvements in safety, quality, and productivity; analyze performance metrics and trends.
  • Interface with EHS, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and contractors on projects and corrective actions.
  • Manage personnel and equipment to optimize productivity, meet schedules, and control costs.
  • Maintain safe working conditions, provide technical assistance, and ensure accurate time reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree + 5+ years or Associate’s Degree + 8+ years in manufacturing production environment
  • Supervisory/Team Lead experience or equivalent Engineering experience supporting Manufacturing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Able to work 2nd shift hours, onsite in Torrance, CA

Nice to have

  • Aerospace, defense, or regulated industry experience
  • Experience with Heat Treat, Plating, Shot Peen, Paint processes
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA requirements
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • EHS best practices in manufacturing
