Instructional Designer, Training Content & Enablement (Autonomous Maritime Systems): Design, develop, and improve training content enabling safe operation of autonomous maritime platforms with an accent on translating technical and operational requirements into scalable learning experiences. Focus on needs analysis, interactive simulations, assessments, and data-driven continuous improvement.

Location: On-site in Austin, Texas. Requires “U.S. Person” status (U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or certain protected asylees/refugees).

What you will do

• Design engaging learning experiences across technical, operational, and business domains using eLearning, job aids, assessments, and instructor-led materials.
• Conduct training needs analyses, collaborate with SMEs to define objectives and ensure content accuracy aligned with SOPs and system capabilities.
• Develop interactive activities, simulations, and scenario-based content based on real operational use cases.
• Create assessments and evaluation tools to validate proficiency and refine training strategies using performance data.
• Maintain training documentation, support LMS operations, and enable instructors with guides and best practices.
• Ensure content compliance, versioning, and alignment with evolving system updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, learning sciences, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Proven experience designing training in technical environments like manufacturing, engineering, operations, defense, or maritime.
• Proficiency with eLearning tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
• Experience with instructor-led and blended learning, visual design (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, HTML).
• Advanced knowledge of assessment design, LMS administration (Cornerstone preferred), project management.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience designing for AR/VR formats.
