Location: Remote. Preference for candidates legally authorized to work in the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa, United Kingdom, or Zambia. 20–30% travel required, primarily to Zambia project sites.

US base salary: $150,000–$300,000, plus equity and benefits including 401k matching.

What you will do

• Own process flowsheet design for Mingomba and future projects from scoping through feasibility, including metallurgical testwork programs for comminution, flotation, hydrometallurgy, and pilot campaigns.
• Evaluate processing routes, quantify economic trade-offs, develop design criteria, mass balances, and equipment specs.
• Build geometallurgical framework linking ore variability to processing performance, integrate into resource models and economic analyses.
• Lead and mentor mineral processing team, manage consultants and labs, represent in investor and partner discussions.
• Collaborate with mine engineers, data scientists, business development on scheduling, ML applications, offtake, and environmental inputs.

Requirements

• 15+ years experience with large-scale (ton-kton/day) chemical processes
• Quantitative and statistical rigor, experimental designs for multistage processing of complex feedstocks
• Experience designing/building from lab testwork to large-scale production
• Track record managing consultants, labs, multidisciplinary teams
• Strong technical writing for reports
• Willingness to travel 20–30% to Zambia and other sites

Nice to have

• Mineral processing experience on copper sulfide projects from testwork to plant design/commissioning
• Leading metallurgical testwork and flowsheet selection
• Deep knowledge of comminution, flotation, hydrometallurgy for base metals
• Contributions to feasibility studies as mineral processing engineer
• Experience with sediment-hosted copper deposits, lithium/nickel processing, geometallurgy, SX-EW
• Comfort with Python, SQL for analysis
