Location: Onsite in Louisville, KY area. Must be U.S. citizen or have active U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship). Primary availability 1:00–5:00 PM EST Mondays and Wednesdays. Access to personal vehicle required.

What you will do

• Provide tutoring and homework support to middle and high school refugee students in after-school programs.
• Organize enrichment activities for cultural integration and social development.
• Coordinate transportation logistics for students with EYS staff.
• Plan educational outings and community-building events.
• Support students in adapting to U.S. school systems and building confidence.
• Facilitate communication between students, families, and school staff.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate/graduate student or <12 months post-graduation, preferably in Education, Social Work or related.
• U.S. citizen or active compliant U.S. visa/work authorization (IRC does not sponsor).
• Access to personal vehicle/reliable transportation; IRC does not provide housing or transport support.
• Availability 1–5 PM EST Mon/Wed.
• Strong intercultural communication skills and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Fluency in English (spoken/written); client languages a plus.
• Ability to handle confidential information and work independently/in a team.
