Design Engineer (Machinery)

TL;DR

Design Engineer (Cooling Systems): Lead the design, development, and validation of cooling components and systems for hirify.global machinery with an accent on Track Type Tractor and Surface Rock Drill applications. Focus on driving innovation through NTI cooling component development, resolving technical issues for NPI and CPI programs, leading FMEA, and developing durability testing methods.

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States. This position requires working onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Lead design of cooling components and systems for Track Type Tractor and Surface Rock Drill products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams through concept, prototype, and production phases to implement robust validation plans.
• Drive NTI cooling component development (TRL0-TRL4) and stay current with innovative cooling technologies.
• Resolve technical issues for NPI and CPI programs related to cooling components and systems.
• Lead component and system FMEA in collaboration with design engineers.
• Develop accelerated durability test methods and define validation pass/fail criteria.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Materials Science.
• Relevant professional experience in design, development, and/or validation.
• Extensive knowledge of analytical thinking, effective communications, managing multiple priorities, and technical excellence.
• Extensive experience with computer-aided design & engineering (CAD) tools like Creo.
• Knowledge of product design processes for manufacturing.
• 10-15% travel may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with track type tractor cooling components and machine-mounted cooling systems.
• Experience reviewing simulation/VPD results and researching new materials.
• Experience with supplier development, prototyping, and hirify.global NPI/APQP processes.
