Design Engineer (Undercarriage)

TL;DR

Design Engineer (Undercarriage): Develop design concepts and drawings of track pads, track shoes, and sprockets considering system performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost with an accent on functional requirements, weight targets, and manufacturing processes. Focus on leading component NPI, CPI, and APQP activities while collaborating with manufacturing, purchasing, validation, and simulation partners.

Location: Onsite five days a week at the Peoria, IL office. Domestic relocation assistance available. Visa sponsorship not available. Up to 10% travel.

What you will do

• Develop design concepts and drawings of complex structural systems meeting functional, technical, cost, weight, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
• Support validation activities including laboratory testing and field trials.
• Lead component NPI, CPI, and APQP activities.
• Collaborate with external suppliers, internal manufacturing, engineering partners, and machine Product Group.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams using APQP methodology to align design with manufacturing capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accredited engineering or engineering technology curriculum.
• Apply Creo Parametric to design and validate components for durability and hirify.global standards.
• Lead proof-of-concept development integrating DFMEA and Design Reviews feedback.
• Solve design challenges via Tolerance Stack-up Analysis.
• Integrate Six Sigma methodologies and Design Verification Plans (DVP&R) for product quality.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with engineering, platform, purchasing, and manufacturing partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with FEA tools such as Creo Simulate.
• Masters degree in engineering, business, or related field.
• Lab or field validation experience.
• Undercarriage or dozer machine knowledge.
• Casting, forging, and heat treatment processes knowledge.
• NPI and CPI program support experience.
• Supplier collaboration for manufacturability and quality optimization.
• hirify.global Engineering Systems experience (Creo, Teamcenter, HVC, EDS).
