TL;DR

Technical Advisor: Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (Full Time): Support RAI department efforts to deliver high-quality mental health, psychosocial services, women’s protection, and trauma-informed case management to refugees, asylum seekers, and displaced families with an accent on integrating evidence-based practices and overcoming access barriers. Focus on developing training materials, guidelines, and partnerships to build capacity among IRC offices and external providers.

Location: 100% remote for US-based candidates. New York, NY HQ USA.

Salary: $95,000 - $108,000 (US-based candidates).

What you will do

  • Provide technical assistance to RAI offices and service agencies on MHPSS best practices, interventions, and resources for forcibly displaced communities.
  • Develop and disseminate guidelines, resources, and culturally appropriate training materials on mental health, psychosocial support, women’s protection, and trauma-informed case management.
  • Manage dissemination and replication of MHPSS interventions, including monitoring, evaluation, and program analysis.
  • Build and maintain relationships with RAI teams and external partners to integrate feedback and expand capacity.
  • Support business development, proposal writing, and funding opportunities at field and RAI levels.
  • Participate in team meetings and adhere to organizational policies and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related mental health field; independent licensure preferred.
  • At least 5 years of MHPSS-related work experience.
  • Experience delivering survivor-centered services, including direct service to survivors of intimate-partner violence.
  • Demonstrated experience with refugee and asylum populations and expertise on trauma impacts.
  • Strong project management, communication, and partnership development skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; additional languages relevant to refugee populations preferred.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office and case management databases.
