TL;DR
Associate Electrical Engineer (Substation): Support detailed design for high-voltage substation projects up to 765kV in EPC with an accent on protection and control systems, physical layouts, and auxiliary power. Focus on developing schematics, one-line diagrams, grounding plans, equipment specs, and performing QA/QC while adhering to budgets and schedules.
Location: Cary, NC, US (hybrid or flexible options after first 90 days; relocation eligible; no visa sponsorship)

What you will do
- Develop protection & control designs: protective relays, panel arrangements, one-line/three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring.
- Create physical layouts: yard plans, grounding, lightning protection, control buildings, auxiliary systems.
- Prepare equipment specs, BOMs, and correspond with clients/vendors/subcontractors.
- Adhere to budgets/schedules, perform QA/QC, support business development.
- Travel for design reviews, construction coordination, field verification as needed.
- Mentor entry-level staff and coordinate with project teams.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in US (no visa sponsorship)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from accredited program.
- Minimum 1 year related work experience.
- Knowledge of design guides, standards, engineering codes, B&V policies.
- Ability to prepare complex engineering deliverables, calculations, data management.
- Complete pre-employment checks: background, drug screen, motor vehicle records.
Nice to have
- HV substation design experience (Physical and/or Protection & Controls).
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) Certification.
- Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office.
