Wind Technician Apprentice

What you will do

• Conduct safe, environmentally conscious maintenance and repairs on wind turbines, including generators, pitch/yaw/cooling systems.
• Troubleshoot and fix mechanical/electrical issues on gearboxes, pumps, and rotating equipment.
• Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
• Complete inspections of safety equipment, vehicles, and plant gear; track time accurately.
• Respond to call-outs, work overtime, and varying shifts up to 6 days/week as needed.

Requirements

• Must have unrestricted driver’s license and speak English.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, comprehend technical info, and use basic electrical testing tools.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues; knowledge of rotating machinery alignment.
• Physically capable: climb 300-ft towers daily, lift 40+ lbs, work in all weather/confined spaces, wear PPE.
• Good communication, decision-making, multitasking, digital literacy (MS Office).

Nice to have

• Previous related experience in mechanically/electrically oriented roles.
• Completion of company training/skill testing.
• Strong safety/environmental awareness and ability to work under pressure.
