Product Development Engineer (Fiber Optic Cable)

TL;DR

Product Development Engineer (Fiber Optic Cable): Responsible for the design, development, and improvement of optical fiber products, collaborating with engineering teams and manufacturing facilities globally with an accent on product development phases and introduction into manufacturing. Focus on improving tests and measurements procedures, participating in root-cause investigations, and conducting feasibility studies of new technologies.

Location: This position is on-site only at our R&D Fiber Technology Center facility located in Tucson, AZ.

What you will do

• Design, develop, improve, qualify, and introduce optical fiber products.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and manufacturing facilities globally.
• Develop and execute product qualification plans and procedures.
• Produce technical documentation, drawings, and product structure details.
• Improve and integrate new tests and measurements procedures.
• Participate in root-cause investigations and conduct feasibility studies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Five (5) years of progressive experience in Product Engineering or Process Engineering.
• Three (3) years of experience in new fiber optic product development and coordinating the transfer of these products for manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting issues for fiber products development using engineering best practices.
• Proficient use of 3D CAD and simulation in SolidWorks software.
• Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
