Software Engineer (Security Data and AI): Contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of software applications within the "Security Data and Artificial Intelligence" lab with an accent on writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Focus on solving technical challenges, improving applications, and staying ahead of industry trends in an agile environment.

Location: Hybrid, spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, or Bristol office sites.

Salary: £48,987 – £54,430

What you will do

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, participating in code reviews and team discussions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements, fix bugs, and build software.
• Maintain and resolve issues in applications to ensure efficient operation.
• Perform root cause analysis, enhance security, and ensure software reliability.
• Stay updated on industry trends and improve coding skills in an agile environment.
• Monitor live service support, identify bugs, and ensure smooth operation.

Requirements

• Experience with programming languages such as Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience with designing Agentic AI solutions, preferably in context to Cyber Security.
• Knowledge of ETL or ELT design principles and understanding of Data Lifecycle.
• Collaboration abilities to coordinate teams towards a common goal.
• Experience constructing secure systems while following enterprise security and compliance guidelines.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Nice to have

• Experience in DevOps engineering, ideally GCP, with a growth mindset for other cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Kubeflow deployments or experience delivering platforms built for AI use cases e.g. through Vertex AI.
• Experience with GCP Cloud Composer, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud Pub/Sub, Terraform, and CI/CD using Harness.
