What you will do

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for identity document processing and verification.
• Partner with Product, Data Science, and Infrastructure teams to translate ML model outputs into efficient backend solutions.
• Own backend architectural decisions, focusing on API design, microservices, and secure data handling.
• Integrate machine learning and computer vision components into the document verification pipeline.
• Analyze production metrics to identify bottlenecks and optimize system response times and uptime.
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers to define clear API contracts and ensure a seamless end-to-end user experience.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and shipping modern backend services or distributed systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency with Golang and frameworks for building APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on experience developing gRPC and RESTful APIs.
• Proven experience designing high-availability microservices in cloud environments.
• Solid understanding of performance optimization and security best practices for handling sensitive data (PII).
• Must be based in the US.
