What you will do

• Develop and maintain scalable, secure backend services and APIs for identity document processing.
• Collaborate with Data Science and ML teams to integrate computer vision models into backend pipelines.
• Own backend architecture decisions, focusing on scalability, resilience, and efficient data handling.
• Drive improvements in code quality, testing coverage, and CI/CD practices.
• Work with frontend and mobile teams to define clear API contracts for seamless user experiences.
• Analyze production metrics to optimize system performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• 5+ years of experience building and shipping modern backend services or distributed systems at scale.
• Advanced proficiency in backend programming languages such as Go, Java, or Scala.
• Hands-on experience developing gRPC and RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of backend security best practices and performance optimization.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity verification, fraud prevention, or document verification domains.
• Familiarity with computer vision or machine learning techniques like OCR and face matching.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud platform and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with streaming and data processing frameworks such as Kafka or Spark.
