TL;DR

Sr. Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical): Developing and optimizing manufacturing, installation, and supply chain processes for automated aviation systems with an accent on design for excellence (DFx) and safety-critical hardware production. Location: Must be based in Mountain View, California (Onsite)

Salary: $167,000 – $230,000

What you will do

  • Design build and installation processes for mechanical, electromechanical, and avionics assemblies.
  • Conduct design for excellence (DFx) reviews to evaluate producibility, cost, and quality.
  • Collaborate with design and certification teams to embed manufacturability and risk mitigation into product development.
  • Develop and maintain quality management systems, work instructions, and engineering change orders.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to maintain production schedules and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or systems engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, design, or testing.
  • 2+ years of experience with CAD and PLM software (e.g., Altium, NX, Teamcenter).
  • Must be a U.S. person or otherwise permitted to access export-controlled technology under U.S. law.
  • Ability to work onsite in Mountain View, CA.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Experience with R&D or New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as AS9100 or 14 CFR Part 21/145.
  • Previous leadership or management experience.
  • Background in troubleshooting and operating complex hardware in safety-critical environments.
