Quality Manager

Location: US Remote; periodic travel to supplier sites, partner facilities, and pilot project locations across the US, with possible international travel for supplier audits.

What you will do

• Implement and continuously improve the Quality Management System in preparation for ISO 9001:2015 certification.
• Define supplier quality requirements, coordinate supplier audits, manage corrective actions, and maintain supplier quality scorecards.
• Establish quality control checkpoints, inspection and test plans, incoming inspection criteria, and final acceptance procedures for vehicle components and integrated subsystems.
• Lead nonconformance reporting, root cause analysis, defect management, and escalation of issues affecting safety, schedule, or customer commitments.
• Establish formal design review gates and provide quality oversight of engineering change management and configuration management.
• Plan and lead internal audits, manage CAPA, track quality KPIs, and prepare management review inputs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering or quality management within a regulated, safety-critical product development environment.
• Experience establishing supplier quality assurance programs, including supplier audits, incoming inspection, and corrective action management.
• Experience defining quality control processes for hardware build, assembly, integration, and inspection and test planning.
• Experience with ISO 9001 certification, internal audits, CAPA programs, configuration management, and root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, and Fault Tree Analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, test, and program management teams.

Nice to have

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Manager, or Certified Quality Auditor certification.
• Experience managing quality during the transition from prototype or development to production.
• Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001 or ISO 19011.
