Client Platform Engineer

TL;DR

Client Platform Engineer (IT/Platform): Design, implement, and manage internal IT and security tools and automation for end-user facing endpoints, including SaaS, physical infrastructure, and cloud infrastructure. Focus on standardization, improving user experience, and troubleshooting complex issues across device management, networking, and PKI/SSL.

What you will do

• Design and implement tools and supporting infrastructure to meet internal business standards and end-user IT needs.
• Manage SaaS services, physical infrastructure (e.g., Wi‑Fi/printing), and cloud infrastructure to support teams.
• Build or improve automation to drive standardization and improve end-user daily experience.
• Identify opportunities for further standardization and user-experience improvements.
• Train IT/Security and other teams on new tooling and provide redundancy when tooling is introduced.
• Support end-user endpoints and troubleshoot issues, including remotely when needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience supporting business needs in IT.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Basic networking knowledge (e.g., VLAN, routing, Wi‑Fi, DHCP, DNS).
• Experience managing in-office infrastructure (e.g., Wi‑Fi, printing).
• Experience with MDM for Apple devices (macOS, iOS, iPadOS) and Windows 11 devices.
• Experience with configuration management (Puppet preferred; Chef or Ansible) and scripting (Python, bash, PowerShell).

Nice to have

• Ability to explain complex concepts to users and colleagues.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems remotely (e.g., via Slack/Google Meet).
• Experience with Google Workspace management and security mechanisms.
• Experience with virtualization/containerization in AWS and GCP (KVM, LXC, Docker).
• Experience with AWS services (IAM, EC2, S3, Route 53, SSO, Lambda) and application packaging (msi/pkg/deb).
• Experience with data classification/handling and end-user support for software and computing devices.
