Sr. Harness Engineer (EWIS)

Sr. Harness Engineer (EWIS): Designing, integrating, and testing advanced electrical wiring interconnection systems for remotely operated aircraft with an accent on harness architecture, bulkhead planning, and spatial packaging. Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Mountain View, California (Hybrid/Onsite).

Salary: $180,000 – $260,000 + equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Define harness architecture, including routing, bulkhead planning, and manufacturing processes.
• Perform detailed design of both flight and test harnesses for advanced aircraft systems.
• Collaborate with production technicians and A&Ps to oversee harness build and installation.
• Install and test hardware directly on remotely operated aircraft.
• Work cross-functionally with avionics, mechanical, and integration teams.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, or asylee) due to U.S. export control regulations.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical harness design.
• Proficiency in routing harnesses in CAD and physically on aircraft.
• Experience with connectors, backshells, EMI shielding, and cable protection methods.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of experience in harness design and avionics packaging.
• Experience with NX routing and Capital Harness Designer.
• Experience working on certification-path aviation projects and DO-160 testing.
