What you will do

• Own the electrical architecture for compact, highly integrated robotic and electromechanical systems, including sensing, power distribution, and actuator interfaces.
• Design and implement electronics spanning circuit design, component selection, PCB layout, bring-up, and validation.
• Build and validate hardware within integrated robotic systems, driving issues from first observation through root cause resolution.
• Partner with mechanical, firmware, software, controls, and research teams to deliver coherent system-level solutions.
• Manage engineering tradeoffs between performance, size, power, reliability, and manufacturability.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience developing electrical systems for robotics, consumer electronics, medical devices, or wearables.
• Proven experience owning hardware development from initial concept through PCB layout, bring-up, and deployment.
• Expertise in designing high-density electronics using BGAs, rigid-flex assemblies, fine-pitch interconnects, and FPCs.
• Ability to reason across electrical, firmware, and mechanical boundaries when making design decisions.
• Must be based in San Francisco, CA, and able to be in the office 4 days a week.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-speed camera interfaces such as GMSL, MIPI/CSI, or FPD-Link.
• Experience with multi-board robotic systems including distributed sensing and real-time communication.
• Experience bringing hardware through EVT/DVT-style builds or contract-manufacturer-supported production.
• Proficiency in writing bring-up, test, or diagnostic firmware in C, C++, Rust, or Python.
