Focus on schematic/layout/artwork generation, troubleshooting, and certifying designs to DO-160, DO-254, and FCC while supporting integration and testing on aircraft.
Company
builds safety-enhancing automated aviation technology using phased array radar systems.
What you will do
- Design digital and analog circuits for a next-generation radar system, tracing system-level requirements down to circuit-level implementation.
- Drive design and layout of a multi-processor with an FPGA on-chip using DDR4 memory, plus switching and linear power supply design.
- Own schematic, layout, artwork generation, and hardware bring-up for radar electronics.
- Collaborate with mechanical and system engineering teams on radar system integration and lab/aircraft testing.
- Certify hardware design to DO-160, DO-254 design assurance, and FCC certification requirements.
Requirements
- Electrical engineering fundamentals (B.S. or equivalent) in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with high-speed digital circuits and linear/switching power regulator circuits, including PLLs, VGA, and mixers.
- Ability to use circuit simulators, Altium schematic capture and layout, and SPICE simulation software.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to find root cause and resolve hardware issues.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and Vector Network Analyzers.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in electrical engineering.
- Experience with avionics system architectures and managing certification requirements.
- RF circuit design experience up to 12GHz.
- DO-160 and DO-254 hardware design assurance experience.
