Automation Robotics Engineer

TL;DR

Automation Robotics Engineer (Embedded/Robotics): Leading and implementing automation cells for high-volume manufacturing environments with an accent on Fanuc and Universal Robots integration. Focus on mechanical and electrical design, PLC programming, and providing technical leadership for assembly plant projects.

Location: On-site in Comstock Park, MI. Willingness to travel in North America up to 50% is required.

What you will do

• Lead and implement automation cells from concept through installation.
• Perform mechanical and electrical design for robotic systems.
• Provide ongoing support, training, and troubleshooting for plant operations.
• Act as a subject matter expert to project lead other integrators.
• Develop performance indicators to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Create contingency and disaster recovery plans for automated systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Fanuc and Universal Robots integration, programming, and maintenance.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC (Micro Logix, Compact Logix, Control Logix) and RSLogix/Studio 5000.
• Ability to create and modify HMI projects.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, including reading electrical prints.

Nice to have

• Experience with additional robotics brands beyond Fanuc and UR.
