What you will do

• Lead the experimental optimization and characterization of system parameters including temperatures, flow rates, and heat transfer.
• Develop system control schemes in collaboration with algorithms and firmware teams to optimize energy consumption and drying time.
• Direct external simulations, including CFD, thermal, and multiphysics models, to improve system design.
• Determine and document system requirements for core components such as fans, condensers, heaters, and sensors.
• Optimize custom hardware like mixing paddles and cutting/shredding technology.
• Coordinate with supply chain managers to source components for production volumes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering with a focus on thermal and fluid handling.
• Experience taking new processes from initial concept through to full production.
• BS/MS degree in Process, Thermal, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (Masters preferred).
• Hands-on experience with electromechanical integration and part selection (blowers, valves, sensors).
• Proficiency in Python for analyzing time series data.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Bruno, California.
