What you will do

• Architect, design, and implement backend services, including the core API powering data processing.
• Develop high-quality code primarily using Scala.
• Establish and promote technical design and coding standards for the platform and product roadmaps.
• Identify and implement architectural improvements and build supporting tools and components.
• Collaborate with product and executive teams to scope projects and communicate technical tradeoffs.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining backend APIs, preferably in a lead capacity.
• Production experience or demonstrated interest in strongly-typed modern functional programming.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, database optimization, cloud infrastructure, and message queues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
