What you will do

• Own the AI foundation and build production-grade generative AI systems to power patient engagement and clinical operations.
• Design core AI platforms and establish technical standards for safety, reliability, and performance in a regulated environment.
• Define system architecture and resolve complex engineering bottlenecks to enable scalable AI implementation.
• Act as a technical multiplier for other engineers across various product surfaces.
• Shape the responsible evolution and strategic direction of AI within the mental healthcare ecosystem.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 7+ years in Public Cloud (AWS, GCP) and 5+ years scaling distributed systems.
• 5+ years of deep experience in Python and at least one other backend language (JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Go).
• 2+ years of experience building AI-powered products at scale using foundation models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, Gemini).
• 2+ years of experience with LLM integration patterns (RAG, agents) or orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, DSPy, Haystack).
• 3+ years of experience with MLOps, data pipelines, and observability systems for model improvement.
• Must be based in the United States (excluding Hawaii).

Nice to have

• Experience architecting secure AI solutions in regulated environments (HIPAA, GDPR).
• Familiarity with human-in-the-loop systems and clinical decision support frameworks.
• Experience designing evaluation pipelines for human alignment and factual accuracy.
• Contributions to open-source AI frameworks or applied research in NLP and GenAI safety.
• Experience contributing to early-stage team growth (0 → 1) or mentoring AI/ML teams.
