What you will do

• Support Veterans Health Administration (VHA) medical centers and Biomedical Engineering departments.
• Apply network engineering principles to distinguish and resolve networking issues from non-networking problems.
• Set up and apply network test equipment and tools to ensure system functionality.
• Analyze and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings for equipment maintenance.
• Maintain and troubleshoot computer and server-based medical equipment, medical record databases, and proprietary software.

Requirements

• Associate degree in applied science or equivalent military training.
• 3+ years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance.
• Minimum one year of specialized experience in medical information systems and networking.
• Proficiency with TCP/IP, HL7, DICOM, VLAN configuration, IP addressing, and subnetting.
• Knowledge of computer virus protection, software patches, upgrades, and network theory.
• Demonstrated skill in collaborating with technical and professional staff across healthcare organizations.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working within a medical center and Biomedical Engineering department.
• Direct experience working with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
• Understanding of VISN, VA medical center, and Biomedical Engineering department operations.
