What you will do

• Design, implement, and test hardware and firmware systems according to project requirements.
• Prepare and review design documentation including schematics, board layouts, and technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot PCBs and complex systems using laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineers and technicians.
• Develop cost estimates and cooperate with project reporting stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with configuration management procedures during design modifications and upgrades.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with at least 3 years of professional experience.
• Must be capable of acquiring a NATO Reliability and Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work on Canadian Controlled Goods and US ITAR controlled articles.
• Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design and embedded microcontroller systems (ARM/DSP).
• Experience with PCB design software such as OrCAD and Pspice.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Underwater Acoustics or Underwater Warfare domains.
• Familiarity with FPGA design using VHDL and C language programming for embedded systems.
• Knowledge of network communication protocols like Fiber Optic Ethernet, ATM, or SONET.
• Previous experience with project management or design processes in a defence environment.
