Staff+ Software Engineer, Full-stack (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA. Staff members are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time. Preference is given to candidates based in NY, NJ, SEA, SF, or the Bay Area.

Annual salary: $405,000–$485,000 USD

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end design and delivery of consumer, enterprise, public-sector, and mission-driven AI products.
• Build full-stack experiences across Claude.ai, the Anthropic API, Claude Code, Cowork, and industry-specific applications.
• Develop platform ecosystem capabilities, commercial controls, access programs, enterprise extensibility, organizational context, and proactive workflows.
• Build enterprise foundations including identity, permissions, security, compliance controls, and admin analytics.
• Partner with engineering, product, design, research, data science, marketing, and go-to-market teams to turn new model capabilities into usable products.
• Drive product growth, user engagement, retention, monetization, performance, accessibility, reliability, and developer experience at global scale.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of practical full-stack engineering experience, ideally including 2+ years at Staff or equivalent technical leadership level.
• Experience leading complex consumer or B2B user-facing products across the full stack.
• Expertise in modern frontend and backend development, including React and TypeScript.
• Product-focused approach to building robust, scalable, and easy-to-use solutions.
• Experience in early-stage startups or rapidly evolving environments, preferably with 0-to-1 product delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience in a relevant field.

• Experience establishing engineering standards, component architectures, and development best practices.
• Experience driving cross-team or cross-organization alignment through influence.
• Experience mentoring and supporting the growth of engineering peers.
