Product Engineer, Sciences (Robotics/AI)

Salary: $160,000–$180,000 per year, including base salary and on-target incentives where applicable

What you will do

• Build and maintain full-stack products with frontend interfaces, backend services, and data models for scientific workflows.
• Work directly with scientists to understand laboratory protocols, instruments, experimental records, and practical constraints.
• Develop integrations, imports, and exports while preserving data context and traceability across incomplete or changing records.
• Test, deploy, monitor, and support production software, including access controls, debugging, and performance improvements.
• Identify product improvements, validate them with users, and make scope and tradeoff decisions under ambiguity.

Requirements

• Production experience across frontend, backend, and databases, with the ability to debug across system boundaries.
• Understanding of experimental workflows, protocols, controls, and sources of variability through laboratory work or scientific software development.
• Ability to build clear, interactive, user-facing interfaces for complex requirements.
• Experience building reliable APIs, working with databases and file storage, and investigating data-processing errors.
• Product judgment, user collaboration, and ownership from initial release through ongoing production use.

Nice to have

• Experience building products used regularly by scientists or laboratory operators.
• Experience with scientific records, instrument integrations, or data-intensive review workflows.
• Practical use of AI tools in products or engineering, with attention to validation and failure handling.
