TL;DR

Portfolio Business Analyst (Fintech): Gathering and documenting requirements for asset modelling and portfolio optimisation tools for a leading UK bulk annuity provider with an accent on investment processes and regulatory constraints. Focus on mapping end-to-end workflows, collaborating with quant and finance stakeholders, and improving asset modelling solutions.

Location: Hybrid (London, UK). Expectation to visit the office in the City of London a couple of days per week.

What you will do

• Extract detailed business requirements from Investment and Finance teams.
• Document end-to-end portfolio optimisation processes and workflows.
• Define requirements for asset modelling tools, including regulatory constraints.
• Translate business needs into clear specifications for development teams.
• Facilitate communication between quantitative, finance, and technology functions.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer on new or enhanced optimisation solutions.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of investment processes, from trading through finance reporting and cash management.
• Familiarity with investment terminology (SCR, DTSMW, PV01, IE01) and optimisation constraints.
• Experience defining requirements for asset modelling tools, specifically portfolio optimisation.
• Solid knowledge of regulatory frameworks, particularly Solvency and SCR requirements.
• Deep understanding of LDI and liquidity matching asset challenges.
• Must be based in or able to commute to London for hybrid office attendance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python or MATLAB for modelling.
• Background in fixed income instruments.
• Knowledge of tools such as Aladdin, Bloomberg PORT/MARS, MSCI BarraOne, RiskMetrics, or Ortec Finance.
