What you will do

• Own and scale a high-throughput search platform handling 1.5B+ monthly requests using Kafka and Elasticsearch.
• Deliver and evolve the core home discovery experience across web and mobile platforms to improve engagement and conversion.
• Manage and extend a reliable notifications platform delivering tens of millions of emails and SMS per month.
• Collaborate on integrating LLMs and intelligent ranking into search and user workflows.
• Drive platform architecture and define next-generation AI-augmented engineering practices within the team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior or staff-level roles.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
• Experience designing and operating scalable microservice architectures in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred).
• Strong understanding of GraphQL, event-driven systems (Kafka, SQS), and distributed databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch).
• Must be based in the United States.
