What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of data platform engineers, supporting their career development and performance feedback.
• Define platform engineering standards and best practices to ensure secure and efficient delivery.
• Guide the design and implementation of platforms supporting federated usage for AI, advanced analytics, and reporting.
• Partner with product managers and data scientists to translate business needs into actionable engineering plans.
• Promote operational stability through monitoring, alerting, and rigorous incident response.
• Review architecture and code to resolve complex engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics) or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience managing and growing technical teams within complex business environments.
• Strong hands-on experience building data platforms using Azure, Databricks, and MS Fabric.
• Experience implementing batch and stream pipeline capabilities in a Kappa architecture.
• Proficiency in automating solution delivery via IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience running platforms with defined SLAs/SLOs and managing incident resolution.
