Location: Broadcasting House, London. The Operations & Production Manager is required to travel across the UK, internationally and to work on evenings and weekends as dictated by the Orchestra’s performance schedule.
Salary: £35,800 - £45,000 (plus London Weighing of £5,441)

What you will do
- Lead operational and production activity for the orchestra, collaborating with players and the Orchestra Manager.
- Produce stage plans and technical layouts, coordinating camera and microphone positioning with production teams.
- Liaise with outsourced stage and transport logistics team, overseeing daily logistics and forward planning.
- Oversee risk management processes, including noise‑exposure monitoring, and implement risk assessments.
- Conduct site visits and production planning, assessing venues for staging, lighting, and access.
- Manage resources and freelance staff, including recruitment and oversight of freelance production managers.
Requirements
- Extensive live event and broadcast experience, including supporting or delivering broadcast productions for TV and radio.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and Noise at Work regulations, with experience in risk management planning.
- Solid understanding of the technical requirements for delivering live events, including awareness of orchestral layouts.
- Personable, collaborative approach with the ability to build trusted relationships and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and project‑management skills, with experience contributing to budget planning.
Nice to have
- Experience of touring abroad and dealing with international carnets and customs.
- Awareness of H&S issues, in particular noise and electrical hazards.
- Ability to understand orchestral scores.
