TL;DR

Actuarial Senior Manager (Finance): Leading the Actuarial Function Support and Capital Insights team, ensuring high-quality actuarial reports and clear insights for decision-making with an accent on capital and risk management. Focus on modernising delivery by embracing new technology and driving ongoing development of models and tooling.

Location: Hybrid working, 40% (or two days) per week in an office site in Edinburgh or Bristol

Salary: £114,606 - £134,830

What you will do

  • Set direction, prioritise delivery, and develop future actuarial leaders.
  • Lead the production of key actuarial reports, ensuring high quality and clear insight for decision making.
  • Lead SUK Risk Calibration reporting and related governance.
  • Drive ongoing development of models and tooling to improve efficiency, control and insight.
  • Own the baselining framework and delivery plan.

Requirements

  • Qualified Actuary (or equivalent experience) with strong post‑qualification experience.
  • A strong understanding of Solvency II / Solvency UK concepts and requirements.
  • A desire to improve ways of working including a proactive approach to utilising the benefits from new technology.
  • Strong people leadership and coaching skills, creating a motivated, inclusive and high‑performing team culture.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders and committees.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely - both in written reports and in committee settings.
