What you will do
- Oversee all Brazilian tax compliance obligations, including federal ancillary filings and state/municipal taxes.
- Manage the calculation and reporting of IRPJ/CSLL under Lucro Real.
- Lead tax planning initiatives to lawfully optimise the overall tax burden and support business decisions.
- Structure and review intercompany transactions, including IOF, IRRF, thin-capitalisation rules and BVI/offshore considerations.
- Coordinate tax controversy and litigation, managing administrative and judicial disputes and liaising with external counsel.
- Prepare tax opinions and risk analyses to support new products, corporate structures and commercial arrangements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Law or Business Administration.
- 5+ years of experience in tax/fiscal roles in Brazil.
- Solid command of Brazilian federal, state and municipal tax legislation.
- Hands-on experience with SPED environment (ECF, EFD-ICMS/IPI, EFD-Contribuições).
- Knowledge of intercompany structures involving offshore entities and related Brazilian tax implications (IOF, IRRF, subcapitalização).
- Fluent English
Nice to have
- Postgraduate specialisation in Tax Law or MBA in Tax/Fiscal Management highly valued.
- Active CRC registration and/or OAB.
- Experience with Tax Reform (IBS/CBS/IS) implementation or monitoring.
- Experience in the gaming, betting, fintech or online entertainment sectors.
- Manage transfer pricing analyses and documentation under the new OECD-aligned framework (Law 14,596/2023).
